Food Pantry Coordinator

St. Louis, MO

NOVUS Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Food Pantry Coordinator to lead our efforts in providing consistent, dignified food support to patients and families. This role is central to the logistics, engagement, and partnerships that fuel our food program and connects patients to vital community resources including SNAP enrollment, insurance navigation, and more. This is a full-time opportunity.

Job Duties

Pantry Operations & Logistics

• Assist patients and families with food program intake and pantry selections.

• Accept, organize, and manage food donations from community partners.

• Track and manage pantry inventory with attention to organization and expiration dates.

• Coordinate supply orders and donations to maintain resource availability.

• Support donation and fundraising efforts like food drives and online campaigns.

Data & Tracking

• Maintain accurate records of pantry usage and referral data.

• Document services in patients’ electronic medical records.

• Generate weekly and monthly reports for internal and partner tracking.

Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordination

• Build partnerships to increase food access opportunities.

• Support communication and outreach efforts to raise program visibility.

• Train and schedule pantry volunteers.

• Lead or assist with food drives and community engagement events.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain ServSafe Food Handler Certification.

• Attend department meetings and agency initiatives.

• Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold NOVUS’s mission and service standards.

• Availability for some evening or weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.

• 3–5 years in social services or community programming, food pantry experience preferred. 

• Compassionate, organized, and service-minded; experience with diverse or underserved populations. Bilingual is a plus.

• EMR familiarity, Excel, Microsoft Word, and online tools.

• Must be able to lift and manage items up to 50 lbs.

• Experience in an integrated or primary care setting preferred.

• Access to reliable transportation required,acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
